Invisalign – The Clear alternative to Braces

At Hazelwood dental we offer Invisalign as the modern alternative to braces. Invisalign has changed the face of orthodontics, instead of wires attached to your teeth, they can now be straightened invisibly.

The aligners are made through a combination of our dentists’ expertise and 3D computer imaging technology, provided by the Invisalign company. This allows the dentist and the patient to visualise the result before treatment commences. In this way facial aesthetics and smile characteristics can be to the patient’s choice.

Clinical research and orthdontic practices worldwide have shown the effectiveness of the Invisalign process. At Hazelwood dental, our certified dentist can undertake this procedure.

The length of the treatment is dependent on the severity of the crowding or spacing of the teeth and complexity of the movement required. Treatment can take place between 3 to 18 months.

Benefits of Invisalign

  • Clear. You can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.
  • Removable. Unlike braces, you can eat and drink what you want during treatment. You can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene.
  • Comfortable. No metal brackets or wires to cause mouth irritation, and less time in the dentist’s chair getting adjustments.
  • The end result is computer modelled before you start so you have a very good idea of the final result.
  • Minimal effect on speech

Invisalign in London

Do you wish to have straightened teeth but you do not want the unpleasant appearance that comes along with traditional braces? If yes, we have got the perfect solution for you. Now you can get rid of your spaced, crowded or crooked teeth within 3-18 months.

As the world of technology has advanced over the years, several new techniques have been developed within the dental field as well. One of such techniques is the use of Invisalign. These are virtually invisible braces that actually tend to work faster than the usual ones.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign treatment is a virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth. Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, Invisalign shows you your complete treatment plan based on your Invisalign Provider’s prescription, from the initial position of your teeth towards the final desired position. Then a series of clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth to move them little by little.

Each aligner is worn for about a week before being replaced by the next in the series, gradually moving towards the projected final position. The treatment time depends on your specific needs and will be decided by your Invisalign Provider.

What can Invisalign help treat?

Overly crowded teeth

When there is too little room in your jaw for your teeth to fit normally, overcrowding can occur. If left untreated, overly crowded teeth can trap food. Trapped food is harder to clean away, and this can lead to plaque formation, decay and gum disease.

Underbite

In an underbite, the lower teeth protrude past the upper teeth.

Overbite

In an overbite, the upper teeth bite over the lower teeth. This can cause wear on your teeth.

Gaps between the teeth

This is usually the result of abnormal continued growth of the jawbone. It can also be caused by teeth shifting into an open space left by a missing tooth. Gaps between teeth are traps for food and bacteria. This increases the risk of tooth decay and gum disease.

Open bite

In an open bite, some of the teeth do not make contact with the opposing teeth. This leaves an open space between the upper and lower teeth. An open bite have also been known to adversely affect proper speech.

Crossbite

In a crossbite, one or more of the upper teeth bite on the inside of the lower teeth. This can happen on the front and/or side of the mouth. It can lead to wear on the teeth.
